I don't know if you are anything like me. But honestly rest does not come easy. Ah like vacations are beyond difficult like I can get into a book and half the time. It's like a marketing book and I like tend to make notes. About all the things I'm going to do when I get back and I know for a fact that that really impacts my family and so I have to make this massive effort to try and rest and honestly the thing that I'm learning is every time that I do it. It helps and it reminds me of Ah, thing that I heard from one of my favorite authors Ryan holiday where he talked about this idea of to speed up slow down. He talks about it a lot in a book called stillness is the key which is a phenomenal read if you've never read it. Um, but it's this idea of. You know, like think about your muscles. You know you go to the gym and you work out but when you are lifting weights the thing that actually makes you stronger is partly the weights but the actual strength comes from the recovery after. The weightlifting like tears your muscles down and then it rebuilds later and it it rebuilds stronger than it was before and I think that's what rest does to us and as entrepreneurs this doesn't come easy and this is something that I want to encourage you in because honestly the thing that sometimes is holding you back. Is your creativity is the the being able to see the big picture of what is actually going on and especially as we go into a season where there's uncertainty and we don't really know what to do? It's easy to want to like hustle and hustle and hustle and get ahead of it all but is that the right thing it's kind of like. My dog I was watching my dog I have ah I have None dogs actually a massive one which is funny. We thought this dog was going to be small and ended up being like £100 and then we got one. That's this beautiful red lab that we thought was going to be huge and it ended up being like £45 that's neither here nor there but I'm watching my puppy play and it's trying to get to something in our backyard and it is literally like running back and forth because it can't get around this fence yet if it had looked twenty feet over it had like something that they could get over that was really easy. And they would have gotten where they wanted to go. They were really busy working ah getting to or think of it like a fly you know constantly like trying to get out of a room by going up against the window and it's busy and it's flying around but the door is ten feet

To the left and it's wide open and if they had been able to pull back and see the bigger picture. They would know that like being right up against that window isn't actually going to be helpful instead. We need to find a way to actually just get out that door and I think that's what rest. Does for us is it allows us to refuel it allows us to kind of recharge our creative batteries and I think that there are multiple ways that we can go about doing this. You know first there is um, the rhythms that we put in on a regular regular basis every single day. Ah, one of the things that has worked really well for me is um, kids have kind of forced me to become a morning person and so I wake up earlier and I make sure and read literally every single day something that helps kind of fuel my creativity. Typically this is a mindset thing um or something else. But every day I try to build in a small degree of rest then there is the weekly kind of habits that you can start to build in where you take time away and realize that your business is likely going to survive if you aren't at its beck and call literally 24 none health you're. Going to be able to serve your customers best when you're healthy and so by pulling back, you actually are serving them better and then there are things like vacations and time away this is important to refuel your creativity and this is important to support those around you I think. You know I could do a whole podcast about being married to an entrepreneur and all the challenges that come with it and vacations can be a really good opportunity to give our spouses our others our best it lets us show up for them in ways that. May be difficult when if you're like me like I'll show up to dinner and I still have whatever is going on in my business on my mind so these are the things that I was was thinking about I have a lot to chat about over the next few weeks um I have stuff going on with conversion and how to increase your online sales retention is going to be a huge piece I want to get. We're gonna be getting into list building which right now needs to be None of your biggest focuses because marketing in q 4 gets crazy expensive and so if we can build our list that's gonna help us now. Um, these. That's what's to come I appreciate your patience as we were out last week. It was definitely a restful time I was in the mountains of Colorado which is my absolute favorite place. So I hope that this was helpful and that you feel encouraged and regardless of where you are.
